Michael Grill – Back of House Employee of the Year 2008

Michael Grill is our aptly named pastry chef! He makes all of our delicious homemade desserts as well as our selection of breads. He is an integral part of our busy kitchen team and is not only an expert in the pastry and dessert section but also a talented all round chef and regularly helps our kitchen team in other sections also. Michael is always positive in his approach to his job and thrives on being busy. He is always in good form and is a source of encouragement and inspiration to his fellow employees.

Donna Gibbons – Front of House Employee of the Year 2008

Donna Gibbons personifies our motto of “providing our guests a great hotel experience with genuine friendly service”. Donnas is hugely popular with both hotel guests and fellow staff. She has won many awards and is one of the highest recipients of guest mentions on comment cards. Her warmth, friendliness and genuine interest in all of our guests is a major asset and plays no small part in the continuing success of the Westport Plaza Hotel.

Joshua Lim Kok Soon – Customer Services Award 2008

Joshua has been voted by you – our guests – as the Customer Service award winner 2008. By nominating Joshua on your guest comment cards as we have tallied up the scores and Joshua is the winner! It comes as no surprise as everyday we can see Joshua taking great pride in his work and he consistently delivers the highest standard of professionalism in his duties. He is always immaculately presented, jovial and thrives on exceeding guest expectation through excellent service.

Luba Siplina – Westport Plaza Employee of the Year 2008

Supervising the housekeeping department in a hotel as busy as the Westport Plaza has its challenges but we feel that there is no person better able to meet these challenges than our own charming Luba. Luba always exhibits a fresh, friendly and cheerful approach to her work combined with a conscientious eye for detail. The outcome is that the high standards set by ourselves are consisently met and exceeded and that you – our valued guests – always arrive to beautifully clean and well appointed luxurious bedrooms and suites.

Sinead Conway – Overall Resort Employee of the Year for the Westport Plaza & Castlecourt Hotel Resort

Sinead is the deserving winner of the most prestigious award achievable at the entire resort which numbers over 300 employees! Throughout the year Sinead has proven her all round ability by fulfilling various management roles in the Castlecourt Hotel. Lately she has taken on the role of Deputy General Manager of the Westport Plaza Hotel. Sinead is a most obliging person and has comfortably met all the demands of each challenging position. She has a most warm and friendly manner at all times and consistently sets a great example for all other team members to follow. Well done to Sinead on deservedly winning this coveted award.
