The Westport Plaza  Hotel was the overall winner for the Customer Service Award in the Tourism and Leisure Sector at the recent Mayo Business Awards 2009.  The award, which attracted many entries from businesses all over Mayo has been given to the Westport Plaza for their commitment to serving the public with the highest standards in customer service.

Gold Medal Awards -  Finalist for Best 4 Star Hotel 2009
In September 2009, Hotel & Catering Review held its 20th annual Gold Medal Awards in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.  The Westport Plaza Hotel was finalist in the Best 4 Star Hotel Category for the second year in a row.

Westport Plaza Wins Silver in Green Hospitality Award – January 2009
The Westport Plaza Hotel were recently awarded the Silver Award at the Green Hospitality Awards. The Green Hospitality Awards is a National Envirnomental Programme sponsored by the Envirnomental Protection Agency and implemented by over 170 Hospitality Businesses across Ireland. The GHA Greenest Destination was also awarded to the town of Westport as it combines an exceptional level of GHA Award winners together with an enviable history of Envirnomental best practice over the years.

Failte Ireland Service Excellence Award November 2007
John Clesham, General Manager at the Westport Plaza Hotel recently attended an Awards Ceremony in Cork where The Westport Plaza Hotel were accredited with Failte Ireland Optimus Best Service Excellence award. Optimus is a programme developed by Fáilte Ireland to support tourism businesses in becoming more customer-focused, more efficient and more competitive. The Optimus programme enables companies to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and increased customer loyalty through clearly defined standards of performance underpinned by a highly motivated workforce.

HSMAI Awards October 2007 – Best Sales & Marketing Team
The Westport Plaza & Castlecourt Hotel Resort was a winner in the prestigious HSMAI Awards held in the Burlington Hotel. The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International in Ireland celebrated its 11th year rewarding excellence in tourism and hospitality. These awards are open to all tourism bodies in the country and many of the top hotels in the country enter every year.  The Westport Plaza & Castlecourt Hotel Resort was short listed for & won the award for Best Sales & Marketing Team. This is the most hotly contested award of the night and the resort were up against some of the top hotels in Ireland.

Hospitality Ireland Awards November 2006 – Finalist Best New Hotel
The Westport Plaza Hotel was a finalist at the prestigious Hospitality Ireland Awards which was held on the 21st November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin. The awards ceremony rewards the very best in the area of hospitality providers. The Westport Plaza Hotel was a finalist in the category for Best New Hotel. With over a hundred entries for this award, 3 hotels were shortlisted finalists and included the Westport Plaza Hotel, The G Hotel in Galway and the overall winner, the Dylan Hotel in Dublin.

Mayo Business Awards November 2006 – Business Growth Award
The Westport Plaza Hotel was the recipient of the Business Growth Award at the awards ceremony at the Broadhaven Hotel in Belmullet. The Mayo Business Awards recognises the efforts of businesses and to promote excellence in the quality of their products and services.
